Presentation: Coco Chanel

I have just finished another presentation. We were to pick a designer and talk about him/her, and my group, consisting of Arivin (leader), Steph, and I, chose to talk about Coco Chanel.

Here's an introduction:

Coco Chanel

Name: Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel
Place of Birth: Loire Valley, France
Date of Birth: 19 August 1883
Date of Death: 10 January 1971 (age 87)

As you all should know from her name, she is the founder the brand Chanel. She has made a dramatic change on women's fashion, introducing pants, sports wear, the little black dress, the Chanel suit, etc. She's the one that made women move away from fancy dresses and wear clothes that were more comfortable and more convenient to move about in.

Our presentation was a little short. We were supposed to have a short clip but on the day itself, we had no idea where the clip went so we had no choice but to section out that part. It was a good thing that our group managed to present without looking at our script or notes, but my lecturer said that I was too ganas when I was talking...... T.T overly expressive I guess, and maybe I was projecting my voice too loudly, but some of my friends said that it was fine, but the best part is, it's over!!!!! ahahahaha, I was so relieved when my turn was done, and glad that I did not forget what I wanted to say.

But guess what, I have another presentation next Friday, aikz...... This presentation is about punctuations, where we have to teach the class how to apply them and prepare exercises for them. Worst of all, we only have a week to prepare!!!! nooooooooooooo.......

We also have lots of unfinished work to be done, especially the pixelation work that we're doing now, our eye power is gonna increase sooner or later due to staring at our work for too long. Imagine, drawing a total of 4779 5x5mm square boxes (pixels)....... I tell you, if anything ever happens to my work, I'd much rather die than do a new one....... At first, we thought that we had 3 weeks for completion, so we wanted to take it easy and not stress ourselves out. But in the end, our dateline is this coming Friday!!!! Shorter by a week, but it makes a whole lot of difference.

This is going to be one hectic week, wish me luck people........

Hmmm....... it seems like I'm pretty active in my blog these few days, despite my so called never ending work. Well, I just feel like expressing my thoughts somewhere, and since I have a blog, might as well make use of it.

I feel pretty lost now, for god knows what reason. Just don't have the mood to do anything, tried to take a nap just now but couldn't fall asleep, what is wrong with me.......

Tomorrow's tutorial is cancelled because my lecturer wants to teach us a few things about writing our essay, so basically, we're not required to hand in any work tomorrow. But I still have my presentation on Friday to prepare for, so I better make sure that I note that down and not conveniently forget about it.

Presentation: Andy Warhol

Another last minute work.......

We had a presentation today for our project class. The topic was to present about the popular icon that we were assigned to for our character design. My group, consisting of Me, Vui Siang, Aira and Negin, were required to talk about Andy Warhol.

For those of you who do not know who Andy Warhol is, well........ go google him up then!!! hahaha, don't worry, I'm not that evil, I'll give you a brief introduction about him ^^

Hahaha, i just grabbed that out from my slides XD so, basically, he's a well known pop artist. I didn't know who he was at first when I got the title, i was like 'who on earth is Andy Warhol??' (the rest got icons such as Adolf Hitler, Cyndi Lauper, Audrey Hepburn, Abraham Lincoln and Margarete Thatcher) but after I did some research, it was then that I realised that he was a really famous icon in the design world.

We only got to know our group members last Thursday, and having an english presentation going on at the same time, it was really hectic. Vui Siang and I literally did last minute work, started our slides on Sunday night, just did whatever we could, and compiled it this morning. (I have to say Vui Siang did a really good job, he made our slides look so professional =D) So technically, he provided most of the visuals while I provided the information.

During the presentation, Negin was loitering somewhere around college, no idea where she went, and Aira came late, so it was down to the two of us......... we were like 'crap, left with the both of us only, how to present?? aihz, die then die la, crap only.' and in the end ours turned out fine (thankfully) not perfect, but still acceptable, hehe. Apparently our voice projection was good ( I swear I was really nervous at that moment, and I'm pretty sure my voice stuttered a lot) but since it was fine, well, good for us ^^

Mid Autumn Festival

It has become more or less a tradition for my friends and I to celebrate Mid Autumn/ Mooncake/ Lantern Festival together. Previously they came over to my house to celebrate, even when it was on a weekday, and we had school on the day after. Die die also must celebrate, hehehe.

This year, we went to Felicia's house!!!! (TQ Felicia for letting us use your house, and also TQ to you and your parents for your great hospitality ^^) Non of us had any clue how to go to her house, so she ended up messaging a 5 pages long sms and also drew up a map for us. (TQ again) I didn't had much problem locating her house, thankfully.......

It was a potluck party, so i brought fried rice over, mana tahu, Kok Shien also brought the same...... so we had two sets of fried rice, aikz.

Lets see, Kok Shien and I brought fried rice, Mei Ling brought fried mee hoon, Siang Yee curry chicken, Fook Hoy, Karina, Wen Kai and Huichuin KFC, Audrey cream cheese and chocolate muffin, Kai Ru jelly mooncake, Felicia satay, drinks, Seng Keat sausages........ think that's all, hope I didn't miss out anything.

We started eating when everyone arrived, which was around 8pm. After eating, play 'lantern' (think they were playing more with the candles and fire, i didn't play, just sat down and chat =P)

There wasn't much done besides eating, playing with lanterns, and chatting, that's pretty much the agenda for the night.

And speaking of agenda, eheheh, we had a mini meeting on that night too, with Kok Shien as our president, Siew Mee as our vice, and Felicia as our secretary. The main discussion of the day was, jeng jeng jeng.......... interrogate nana's boyfriend!!!!! ahahahaha, first time meeting him, of course must interrogate leh, parents meeting session marr. But, of all you know, call them over to sit with us, in the end we just remained silent, don't know what to ask, swt...... haha, so I guess they got off the hook.

We also celebrated Kai Ru's little cousin a.k.a. ah girl's birthday on that day. And I tell you, arts student memang arts student, even cutting the cake also must be done artistically.

Monash Ball : Vogue

I followed my brother to the Monash Ball, as my brother's table had an extra seat, and also since my KBU prom was held in March, a month before I entered college, so I didn't have the chance to go, and worst of all, it was on my birthday!!!! =.= So, while i was celebrating my birthday, all my Fellow KBU mates were enjoying they're ball at 1 world hotel.......

The Monash Ball was held in Sunway Hotel, and also on the same day the black eyed peas had they're concert. So, as you can predict, jam...... But it wasn't that bad, still managed to find parking, haha.

The ball was suppose to start at 7pm, but we reached there around 8pm, and even so, many had not arrived yet (Malaysian timing.....)

When we went to the ballroom, there was a long line waiting to enter, but my bro and his friends knew some people from the committee, so....... eheheh. The performance already started when we entered the ballroom, and we had to walk through god knows how many tables just to find ours, and we weren't quite sure which was it also, they only knew part of the number =S

The theme of the ball was Vogue, and they simulated a red carpet photography session as well, but you have to pay RM5 for a picture though......

Food:

Not too bad, but not good either. I'm not so picky with food so I just eat as long as the taste is still edible. As for those picky eaters, think they'll be complaining the whole way.....

First dish, can't remember what's the name, but I didn't like it.....

Wanton soup (a chinese dish out of nowhere) tasted fine

Main course, spring chicken, not too bad

Performance:

We got Henry Golding and Sarah Lian as our host. Really cool!!!!!

Andrew Netto was really cool, jokes were lame, but funny, hahaha, had a really good laugh.

Reshmonu was the star of the night, quite an enjoyable performance as well. And best of all, I got a picture with him!!!!!


Atmosphere:

Nice, something like the typical prom decorations, similar to wedding, but I guess you can't really run that far when it comes to prom decorations.....

There were around 80 tables or so i think.....

After the ball ended, we headed over to MOS as our ball tickets were entitled to get free entry. Hehe, happy~~~ finally get to go to MOS ^^

The music was really loud, I couldn't hear properly when I came out from there. Place was not bad, pretty dark though, and the lights were flickering so it was quite hard to see properly, maybe I'm just not used to it, eheheh. But the best part is, no smoking!!!! ahahahaha, at least I won't smell like smoke when I come out of there.

Went mamak after that for a drink, and finally went home at round 3am..... tired gila......
