KL Expedition

My long lost blog post, finally have the time to write it.......

Kim Mei and I chose the Petaling Street title for our critical writing, seeing that it's about architecture, it should be pretty interesting to write about. But when we started researching for information, it's a whole new story......

Anyhow, that's not the main point of this post. Continuing on~~~

As part of the task, we had to analyse the building structure there and determine the Neoclassical and Art Deco influences. And, by having a local guide amongst us, namely Angus, we asked him to accompany us and bring us around (we didn't even know Pasar Seni LRT stop could get us to Petaling Street.......)

We got Danny Siah to come along as well, the more the merrier, haha.

Me and Danny reached there 1st, Kim Mei and Angus were running late, so we looked around for a place with air-con (typical Malaysians XD). We spotted a McD sign with an arrow pointing to the direction of the McD restaurant. So we thought of heading over to get ice-cream while waiting. Of all you know, that freaking McD sign lead us to a longer way, ended up in some back alley (don't worry, it's not a scam, nothing happened, haha, just a misleading sign that's all), when we could just walk straight and we would end up in the same place.

After awhile, Angus called, told him we're at McD, but he had no idea which McD we're talking about. So, the easiest solution, we walked back to Pasar Seni station......... We had a hard time locating each other there, we were standing at both ends, haha, had to use buses as landmarks XD

Then, Petaling Street!!!! Kim Mei and I were like a couple of tourist, snap here snap there, macam tak pernah tengok Petaling Street. Correction, even worst than the tourist there, even they don't snap so much.

Walk walk walk, snap snap snap, time for lunch!!!! hungry~~~ ate at some food court.

We had nothing to do after that, and it was still quite early (not literally). Therefore, we made Angus bring us to his school, hehehe. According to him, it was a 15 mins walk (I'm not exactly sure how long we took though)

Started to 'long kai' (something like merayau-rayau, can't think of an english word =P) walked all the way to St John's Institution. But before we went to the school, we went to the church first, saw really nice stained glass.

The alter

On our way to the school, someone poser....

St John's Institution, makes you feel like a living history, so nice!!! Wish my school was like that.......

Looks like the Malacca red house
(heard that tourist actually did come in to snap pictures before, haha)

Caught in action

Reminiscing bout school times, so nice~~~

They were trying to slide down the banister

We heard that two cats meowing, and I tell you, KL cats, extra GANAS!!!!

We went over to Convent Bukit Nanas, just beside St John's, one girls school, one boys school, hmm......

This school is older than St John's
(To arts students: can you spot the Gothic influenced architecture?)
Kim Mei and I were like, 'Hey, Gothic architecture!!!'

Someone poser again..... the door looks like some medieval door

The school is soooo gonna blacklist us, we just walked into every door we found open =P

Found this grand piano, Kim Mei and I started playing till the school keeper came to warn us, but she and I went to hide, akakaka, sorry Angus and Danny.....

After the school, went out to rayau some more, we saw a hill slope and we weren't very sure where it lead to, but due to our 'adventurous' spirit, climb aje.

Did some jungle tracking, though the track was actually tarmac road, but, well, it's still a jungle, and the road was really steep, all of us were out of breath when we reached the top.

Climb climb~~~

To our luck, that road actually leads to KL tower, hahaha

See the 4th line, KL Tower!!!

Civilisation!!!! happy~~~

Chilled at KL Tower for awhile, got a drink and sat down to regain energy. After recharging, off to KLCC!!!

Ta-dah!!! I give you, Twin Tower!!!!

Finally!!! Air-con!!!! After being in the sun for so long, it feels really nice to go indoors. Angus bought us New Zealand Naturals, hehe, TQ TQ =D. We went out to walk in the park, all of us were so tempted to jump into the lake (control control~~). As we were walking near the convention centre, we saw that they were having some furniture exhibition. Since we were already there, why not?

Look what we found over there

KBU College!!!
And more importantly, we won the gold award!!! ahahahaha *bangga* (nothing to do with me though XD)

Kim Mei had to go to MATTA fair with her mom after that, so the rest of us went home as well, it was already in the evening, getting late, and at that time I was rushing for all my projects, hehe.

We couldn't believe it ourselves that we've actually walked so far. Imagine, Petaling Street - St John's Institution - Convent Bukit Nenas - KL Tower - KLCC, that's 5 places in a day on foot. But it was really fun, always wanted to tour KL, but i do not know the roads, so didn't dare. Now that we have a local guide, hehehe, it's a different story ^^
