FRIM Trip

Camping!!!! FRIM!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!! (shout of joy or fear? guess for yoursleves.....)

We gathered at Banana Leaf at 9.30am on Saturday before we left, eating and chatting all the way while some of the others went to prepare for the trip.

Waiting

and waiting

and still waiting......

As soon as we arrived there, we went straight to campsite, settled down, and did what was most essential for a camping trip..... pitching up our tents!!! XD

Reached destination, Vicky announcing his arrival

The guys doing some butt and boobs routine

Me and Kim Mei tried pitching up the tents on our own, and failed misserably T.T Bon, Ben and Sheng Kang came over to help us since they've already done theirs (thanks guys!!!) Angus had the simplest tent of all, which requires only a minute to set up (it was stated on the instructions) and true enough, he just have to pull it out from the bag and ta-dah, there you have it, instant tent!!!

The manual is not helping....

Our rescuers!!

It's up, finally!!!

That's Angus's instant tent

Some of them went to attempt the monkey bar just beside our camping grounds, with some muddy swamp and you do not want to know what's inside there.....

Jia You Kim Mei!!!

Kaartig also attempting

Hahaha, cheating!!!!

We had lunch after pitching pur tents and started planning on where to head next. We were actually planning on going for the canopy walk and head to the water fall to bathe after that, but ended up with only the waterfall.

Lunch Time!!! Nasi Lemak, mine came with sotong~~~ (thanks dear ^^)

Cleaning up after that

Briefing before heading to waterfall

We splited into 2 groups, but until now I do not know what's the point for it @~@

Waterfall time~~ *march march march*

We changed into something more comfortable and marched off to our destination. It was quite a long walk there, not to mention long hike. We had to hike up the mountains just to find a more secluded spot of the waterfall so that we could enjoy it on our own. I'm sure the first thing that comes to your mind when I mention waterfall will be a 100 feet tall waterfall that falls from up the mountains to a big pool below where we are able to swim. But noooooooo, it's just a really small waterfall that falls miserably from steps of rocks into a tiny little pool below. But whatever it is, it's still really awesome to soak ourselves in it. The water is refreshingly cooling and it feels rejuvenating especially after the long journey.

On the way

My favorite 'peace' pose (according to William)

Climbing up to the waterfall *pant*

Still not there yet...... T.T

Are we finally there??

No...... T.T

We're there now!!

The girls

The guys

The girls and guys

The guys decided to go topless, except for a few.....

We trecked back to camp in our drenched clothings, but with the hot sun blazing, we weren't that drenched by the time we reached camp. Most of us went for a bath immediately. And us girls, being a little too civilized, couldn't stand the bath room. It isn't that bad actually, it's even better than some of the public toilets we go to, but I guess we just couldn't stand icky toilets.

Trecking back to camp

After bathing, most of them went to chill and relax, singing along to songs and enjoying the moment, while some of us went to prepare dinner. We were having barbeque for dinner (I have no idea how many bbq I've been having this year, I'm gonna pot for stemboat next round) so we prepared the pit, lay out the food, and started the fire. It took forever for the food to be cooked, the pit was too deep making the fire a little to far away, thus, emmiting less heat which results in the untolerably long time for the food to cook. Most of them couldn't stand it anymore and gave up on eating, thank goodness Jason brought along his portable stove and he just dumped everything in there to cook (I'm gonna get more portable stove when I go camping next time, that's if I do go again =P).

Chilling moment

And chops till the night.... (his hand had blisters after that, ouch....)

After dinner, we sat around and discussed about our plan for nightwalk. Those experienced ones started stating all the trecking rules and jungle myths, and not mentioning freaking out everyone as well. While waiting for the nightwalk, we sat around and some were sharing stories while others sat and listen. We also played a team building game called the saboteur that Chaman came up with. The objective of the game was to finish an unfinish maze. The answer to the maze is pinned on a tree and each round, group members would take turn to go out and memorize the answer and report back. But the catch was that there would be a sabboteur in the group and that person is suppose to give the wrong answers to the team, making it difficult to them and the others are suppose to spot this person and report him/her out.

The Saboteur Victims

My group (Bon missing) with Kim Mei's smoke shoes in the foreground

As for my group, which comprises of Jason, Bon, Vicky, Janice and I, couldn't pin point anyone out as everyone was loyal as loyal may be, and we were also the first group to solve the maze (Congrats team!!!). We started predicting that there weren't any saboteurs at all in any group and the whole point was to see how much trust each of us have in our team members. And true enough, there weren't any. The only saboteur around was Chaman, going round telling us that our answer was wrong, trying to get us to suspect each other. But that was the whole point, it was to show us how influencial a person's words can be that would change everyones mind set about something.

After the game, we sat around in a circle and had a voice out session, where everyone would be able to express how they feel about anything, may it be themselves, conflicts, the game, what they feel, opinions, issues, etc. and I really hope that from then on, everyone would put everything behind and start all over again, giving themselves and others a second chance.

It was time for nightwalk, everyone went except 3 of us, Jason, Jonathan and I. We stayed back to keep watch of the camp site and sat around for more than an hour before the rest came back. If I'm not mistaken it was pass 1a.m. by the time they reach back. We played Mafia after that, something like cluedo. It's a role playing game where we're suppose to guess who's the murderer, and Michelle conned all of us with her innocent beginner's look. Continued with truth or dare, and it wasn't until close to 4 a.m. when we all were finally tired and went to sleep.

It was really cold at night and I could barely get much sleep..... I only slept for roughly 2 hours when I woke up at 6 and manage to fall back to sleep for awhile before Michelle came stomping and woke us up. I guess she was the only energetic one for the morning =P

Rise and Shine

Awwwww, the Dannys, so sweet ♥♥

We had maggi for breakfast!! With fish cake and eggs, yum~~ But I only ate a bit, most of the time I just stood by and watch the chef cook, and sat around to stone..... getting lazy to do stuff already >.<
Our chef for the morning ^^

As soon as everyone is done for breakfast, we started to pack up, dismanteling the tents and got ready to head home. But, how could we forget the most important part of an outing..... Group Picture!!! Everyone was dead tired though.....

Smile people!!! (only the 3 at the back has energy....)
